DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in starting your own food business? SBDC EATS is a program that helps you learn what it takes to do so! Through this program\, you will be guided through the necessary steps to plan\, build\, and launch your food business and products in the marketplace.\n\nSBDC EATS will be taught in a hybrid format (sessions will be a mix online and in-person events). This fast-paced course will help you in developing your business idea to start up your business in the food industry.\n\nThis program is presented in English AND Spanish. This program is offered in partnership with the CulinaryLab Cooking School.\n\nDuring the program\, you will learn the following:\n\nGoing from Idea to Concept:\n\n\n Do you have what it takes?\n Steps to starting your food business\n Types of food businesses\n Competition\n Your niche\n Market Research\n\n\nSetting Up Your Business:\n\n\n What are the different business entities?\n Pieces you need to set up your business\n Licensing and permits\n\n\nHoning In on Your Offerings:\n\n\n Your offerings\n Recipes\n Inventory\n Pricing and costing\n\n\nStarting to Sell:\n\n\n Cottage permits\n Selling at events\n Managers certification\n\n\nManaging your Business:\n\n\n Accounting methods\n Financial projections\n Access to capital\n\n\nGetting the Word Out:\n\n\n Marketing your business\n Establishing your online presence\n Steps to stand out and shine in a crowded market\n Measuring your success\n\n\nThrough this program\, you will be aligned with one of our food consultants for personalized assistance and to discuss how to move forward toward the launch of your business.
